South Indian Thali

Sambar

  • 1 cup Tur Dal
  • 1 chopped onions
  • 1 chopped Tomato
  • 1 drumstick cut into 4″ pieces
  • Put it in a pressure cooker with 4 whistles
  • Any other vegetables are optional as per your taste
  • 1 tablespoon Sampada Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli
  • 2 teaspoon Tamarind paste
  • 1 teaspoon salt & Jaggery
  • 2 Tablespoons Coconut grounded

Seasoning
Put it in a mixer, add 1/2 cup water
Coarse Ground it. Make Tadka of 1 spoon oil, 1 pinch of Asafoitida/hing, 1/2 spoon Udad dal, 1/2 spoon Mustard seeds / 6/8 curry leaves. Add dal, Vegetable & the above ingredients, boil it for 15mins, serve hot.
